At Sōke in Brooklyn Park, pick BBQ or hot pot and order as much as you like for 90 minutes. Lunch pricing runs 10 AM to 4 PM on weekdays; dinner pricing starts at 4 PM and applies all day Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

Adult dinner includes one lobster tail for the pot or one 8 oz ribeye for the grill, or both if you go BBQ and hot pot together for $5 more per person.

The whole table chooses the same option. Appetizers and drinks are extra. Our motto: come for the meat, stay for the side dishes.

First time? Here's how it works. Tell your server BBQ, hot pot or both. For hot pot, pick up to four broths, from pho and miso to Sichuan spicy and Thai tom yum. Then order meats, seafood, vegetables and noodles in rounds, as often as you like, and cook them yourself at the table.

Grill thin cuts like brisket and bulgogi for a minute or two a side; drop seafood and greens into the pot and pull them once they float or turn opaque. Mix your dipping sauce at the sauce bar. Servers show first-timers how.

Order in smaller rounds so nothing goes to waste, and save room for a mochi donut from Mochinut, under the same roof.

Kids pay less: $16.99 at lunch and $20.99 at dinner for ages 7 to 10, and $12.99 at lunch and $16.99 at dinner for ages 4 to 6.

Weekday lunch, 10 AM to 4 PM Monday to Friday, is the best value. Dinner pricing starts at 4 PM and runs all day on Saturday, Sunday and holidays. Sōke is closed on Tuesdays, so plan a weekday lunch for Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

Appetizers and drinks are ordered separately: pair the grill with soju, sake, Sapporo or Terra, or try fresh sugar cane juice, smoothies or Vietnamese coffee.
